FAQ

What is HSHacks?
At HSHacks, likeminded high school students come together and use technology to transform ideas into reality. Students work in teams for 24 hours to code something amazing.
Who is eligible to attend?
All high school students are welcome. You don't need to know how to code - HSHacks is a very beginner friendly event! Expect plenty of mentors and workshops.
How much does it cost?
The event is completely free for all high school students. Admission is free, food is free, and swag is free!
I don't know how to code... can I still come?
Of course! All students regardless of coding ability are welcome. We will be holding several beginner workshops (iOS, Android, Web), so come on out!
What can I make?
Anything! You can build for web, mobile, Pebble, Google Glass, wearables, hardware, etc. Just make sure the project is made during the hackathon!
What should I bring?
Bring your laptop, phone, chargers, and any other electronics you’ll need for the weekend (sleeping bag if you want).
Do I need a team to sign up?
Not at all! We will have plenty of time for you to make teams, if you don't have one. You can also choose to work individually.
Can I work on an existing project?
Sorry, but for this hackathon, we ask that all coding must be done at the event. However, feel free to work on design, logos, or ideas.
